Dental Treatments

Cavities / Decay

Teeth with cavities can be restored using a filling material. The cavity can be filled either with a silver, gold or white filling material. The white restorations can make the tooth appear as if there is no filling in it.

Broken or Worn Teeth

Accidents do happen, broken teeth can be repaired cosmetically. Worn teeth can either be protected using a specially made gum shield or built back up to their original shape and size.

New Crowns

A Crown is an artificial restoration that fits over the remaining part of a prepared tooth, making it strong and giving it the shape of a natural tooth. A crown is sometimes known as a 'cap'.

Tooth Whitening

Teeth change colour as we age. Thankfully there are now treatments to whiten our teeth close to their original colour. The most common treatment involves wearing a special gum shied closely adapted to your mouth containing the whitening gel for 14 nights.

Bridges, Dentures and Implants

There are three main ways to replace a space without physically moving teeth (orthodontics). These are Bridges, Partial Dentures and Implants.

A Bridge can not be taken out of the mouth and is attached permanently to existing teeth and is not removable.

A Denture is an appliance which is worn in the mouth and removed daily for cleaning and is often supported by the soft tissue of the mouth.

An Implant is an artificial tooth that is supported by the bone in the mouth. This is the latest, most contemporary method to fill spaces in the mouth. Your dentist can advise which option is most appropriate.
